Grains

With over 200,000 MTS traded annually, grains make up the majority of our annual turnover. Our primary grains of trade are Maize and Wheat. Maize is used in the Animal Feed and Starch industries and was one of the first commodities that the company had started trading over 30 years ago. Wheat, being primarily an imported commodity for us, is mostly sourced from Black Sea origin countries and Australia. It is sold directly to flour mills and is used primarily for human consumption .

Oilseeds

Our primary focus on oilseeds is Soya. We not only trade in the domestic variant, but also import from Black Sea and LDC origin countries. India’s consumption of Soya based protein and oil have been rising steadily for over a decade with new origin markets finding parity in trading with us. Other oilseeds we trade from time to time include Sunflower and Rapeseed.

Pulses

Having started our pulses portfolio almost a decade ago, we now annually trade around 50,000MT of pulses with Yellow Peas being the highest volume followed by Dun Peas, Chickpeas and Green Peas. India is the world's largest consumer of pulses but produces only a fraction of its requirement locally. Pulses have proved to be a steady and viable business opportunity in India.

Millet

Bajra

Bajra (Pearl Millet) is the most widely grown type of millet. Grown in Africa and the Indian subcontinent since prehistoric times, it is generally accepted that Bajra originated in Africa and was subsequently introduced into India Bajra is well adapted to production systems characterized by drought, low soil fertility, and high temperature. It performs well in soils with high salinity or low pH. Because of its tolerance to difficult growing conditions, it can be grown in areas where other cereal crops, such as maize or wheat, would not survive Bajra (Pearl Millet) is the most widely grown type of millet.

sorghum

Grain sorghum is one of the most important cereal crop grown in India and is also the fifth most important cereal crop grown in the world. India is the world's largest producer of grain sorghum. Sorghum is also drought tolerant and heat tolerant which is especially important in arid regions. We at Rajapalayam are also counted amidst the chief white sorghum exporters from India.

Raghi

Finger millet also known as African millet or Ragi, is an annual plant widely grown as a cereal in the arid areas of Africa and Asia. Finger millet is originally native to the Ethiopian Highlands and was introduced into India approximately 4000 years ago. It is very adaptable to higher elevations and is grown in the Himalaya up to 2,300 meters in elevation. Finger millet is especially valuable as it contains the amino acid methionine, which is lacking in the diets of hundreds of millions of the poor who live on starchy staples such as cassava, plantain, polished rice, or maize meal.

Wheat

Wheat is the most important winter cereal grown during the non-monsoon months, and it is less vulnerable to yield fluctuation than other crops. After rice, wheat is the most important cereal in India. It is grown in cooler regions of India during the mild winter months of November to mid-April.Physical characteristics such as hectoliter weight, thousand grain weight, grain hardness and texture are important for the grain trade. Based on physical parameters and purity, Indian wheat has been grouped into different grades in accordance with the international grading system.

The Coconut de oiled cake we supply is a by-product of crude coconut oil. It is derived from the mechanical expelling or solvent extraction process of the Coconut . The copra cake we offer is high in energy and fibre.

Sunflower de-oiled Cake

Sunflower meal is another name for sunflower de-oiled cake. This is the by-product of extraction of oil from sunflower seeds. Broken Rice
